The orchestra party had gone with a swing at the riverside in saltford. I was worrying about the food and location but all turned out well on the night albeit a cold one! We had games based on games shows from TV over the last twenty years and some good fun.
On Sunday I turned up at the church of the Holy Nativity on the Wells road and sang in the Messiah from scratch group. I seemed to meet people from my past from Shaftesbury Crusade, Fr Jack House. The church is not just geographically high but also is one of the most catholic parishes in the church of England having its own flying Bishop and kitted out to be more Roman than many roman churches i have been too. But at the same time an awe inspiring place and sense of sacred missing from many churches. Anyway singing with the orchestra was exilerating and the church had a magnificent acoustic which made it hard to hear the conductor as the echoe lasted rather a long time! With the organ in the west gallery it was an amazing sound.
I did have a cold though but enjoyed listening although slightly bemused by the male alto in the gallery!
