Last Llanthony Of the Year

Another somewhat rushed weekend - however myself, Vic and Holly decided we wanted to stay one more time at Llanthnoy prior campsite. They set off the day previously although I did get a phone call 'were lost. Don't laugh! Mumy's got us lost again!' Anyway they must have found it because despite my best attempts to get there for 9am the next day I preditably got there at 1030. When I arrived the priory looked the same and the camp site was actually a bit fuller than I had imagined it would be in September. Holly had gone for a ride on her horse (who she later called Girl)and I had to drive back to Abergavenny to buy some gas for our cooker.
In the afternoon holly arrived back and we had a cup of tea and chilled out in the field (or rather Holly played on the old tyre). Later on we set out for a walk down by the stream and up some fields although again getting lost at every opportunity (and me getting the blame!!). We saw lots of horses and some foals and Holly makin conversation with fellow campers along the way. It was starting to drizzle as we tried to find our way down the hill but eventually found a nice bridge and sat there for a while.
In the evening we cooked our own meal and barbie and I took Holly over to see the horses in the next field one of whom she called Girl. This particular horse seemed to have a real liking for Holly and tried to get out of the field to be with her. Holly had several friends with her and they were most amused by the stallions do-do and there were fits of giggles! Holly and her friends dragged me up to the priory ruins and met Vicy there where I had a pint of stout and Holly played hide and seek with her new friends for hours until about 10.30.
I didn't sleep well or rather hardly at all! I was awoken by some loud munching nearby and moving about. Very inconserate at 4 in the morning I thought. At 6am I popped my head out of the window and there were some horses busy munching grass outside my tent on the otherside of the fence!
It rained all morning and we decided to set off home afterwards.
