Me and the Orchestra! I have played with Longwell Green Orchestra since I bought my first trumpet in sept 2001. Three weeks after buying it I joined and taught myself with some help from Dave White over the years.

About Me
- Neil Marchant
- I grew up in Henleaze Bristol and went to school at St Mary Redcliffe and Temple Colston School. I was a chorister at Horfield Parish church. Sang in Wells, Bristol cathedrals and Bath abbey! Deputy organist at St Bartholomews church Bristol. Did Religious Studies degree at St Davids University Lampeter - I really enjoyed often. Worked at St Georges CryptLeeds with homeless people in a damp hostel.At UWE I obtained my RMN I love music and animals and am vegetarian. I am also a Socialist and labour party supporter and am proud of the working class heritage of the party. I am also against Nuclear weapons. However I enjoy a debate (only when I am winning!) and have plenty of Tory friends. I hate any kinds of pretention and status. I admire the words of John Frost (Newport Chartist Leader) who said that he did not judge a mans worth by the cut of his coat or the money in his pocket! I hate injustice and hate the fact that there are so many people living in this country who do not recieve the education or start in life that the other half do. Wales is important to me. I enjoy Nick Drake,Queen, Debussy, Frank Bridge Leroy Anderson. I am a bit of a hippy sometimes!
